CDPH Standard

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) thru their Indoor Air Quality program developed what is considered and referenced today as the definitive test method for evaluating VOC emissions from interior construction materials using dynamic test chambers. This test method builds upon the ASTM D 5116 guide for use of small-scale chambers and analysis of VOCs and aldehydes using GC/MS and HPLC. This methodology was originally published in 2004 as the Standard Practice (commonly referred to as Section 0150). In 2010, the original document was updated, expanded and renamed the Standard Method for the Testing and Evaluation of Volatile Organic Chemical Emissions from Indoor Sources Using Environmental Chambers Version 1.1 (2010) commonly referred to today as the CDPH Standard Method V1.1.
